Stephen Layne, exceptional figurative sculpture
For over 25 years Stephen Layne has created exceptional bronze and wood sculpture works that show in select New York galleries. The National Sculpture Society has awarded Stephen 2 Gold medals for his work. Stephen selectively accepts public & private commissions.
Stephen Layne is a graduate of the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts (1994) and is an appointed professor at Moore College of Art and Design.
The city of Philadelphia recently commissioned Mr. Layne as the sculptor of the Joe Frazier Memorial Statue. The 11 foot bronze is scheduled for installation, at the Xfinity Live! Center, September 12, 2015.
Layne is featured in Sculpture Review Magazine, HBO, Comcast Sportsnet, NPR, The Associated Press, to name a few, and has received numerous top awards and Gold Medals through the prestigious National Sculpture Society, NY, and Allied Artists Of America, NY.
A professional member of the National Sculpture Society, NY and the National Sculptor’s Guild, CO, Layne has guest lectured on his work and career at the National Sculptor’s Convnention, Washington DC, and the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts, PA. His longstanding gallery career includes group and solo exhibitions in Philadelphia, New York, Washington DC and Brookgreen Gardens, SC.
