Although I have a sense of humor and can be provocative and bold, I can be shy and venerable about these traits. I find it easier to remain behind the canvas by myself.

That’s why I paint people from concepts I develop through photography and the occasional use of props. I take my time. I do it right the first time. I have fun and let my enthusiasm capture the moment they let their guard down and a natural reality comes out.

My reality is once I paint a portrait from my own photo, I want it to make a lasting impression about my client without them having to say a word other than “Wow!”
