Melinda Crider, mysterious mythological characters, saints, hybrids

Mysterious mythological characters, saints, hybrids and goddesses underline my work.

Other images formed from dreams to realities create the symbolism embedded within my figurative sculptures. I began my formal education at the Atlanta College of Art, focusing on painting and sculpture. In the Apprenticeship Program at Callanwolde Fine Arts Center I began an in-depth study of clay and pottery.

During the past 35+ years, my sculptures, paintings, mixed media works, and photography have been featured in numerous solo and group shows across America, paving the way to receive several awards. My work is included in the permanent collections of Georgetown University, Kaiser Permanente, and St. Joseph's Hospital among others.
