Art Medium: portraits, contemporary figurative painting
I like to refer to my technique as contemporary realism, and I work in two different mediums: soft pastel and oil. While my use of these mediums is in keeping with traditional methods, I have been experimenting with different surfaces. In my pastel work I having been trying non-traditional papers. You can see an example of this in my demonstration of a still life on Mexican Bark Paper in progress on my blog. I am also enjoying painting on copper which back in the day was a typical support for oil, but is a bit more unusual to find these days. Mrs. Hash receives a steady flow of portrait commissions and has won numerous Best of Show awards for her life-like rendering of the human form. Highlights of Mrs. Hash’s artistic career thus far have been the selection of two of her portraits to win awards in The Portrait Society of America’s 2006 and 2010 Member’s Only Competitions. Her work can be found in many private collections, has been exhibited in galleries across the greater Houston area, and has been published in International Artist Magazine and The Art of the Portrait Journal.
