My task remains the same from the first day I picked up a brush, pushed it into paint and placed it on paper: to create a two dimensional image that evokes a response from the viewer. A personal, visual dialog has developed, grown and matured over 30 years, amazing! Personal is the key word here. My span on this globe allows me a moment, an opportunity to make an impression among fellow beings. How will this time manifest and play out over the years… Now that’s a question.
Recent techniques I’ve employed into a collage type process (I call Xixtography) allow added possibilities while creating the art object. My work now tends towards a blend of standard painting technique and the structured technique involved in Xixography.
