Oksana Grineva was born in Tomsk, Siberia. She began drawing and painting at the age of three. As she was growing up, long cold winters provided opportunity for pursing her love of art. Noticing Oksana’s special creative gifts and the need to reside in a warmer climate, her parents moved to the Ukraine where Ms. Grineva attended private art schools. Oksana is a graduate of Samokisha Art College and Kharkov Art Academy, where she received her M.B.A.
She lived three years in Ankara, Turkey where she became recognized for her dramatically expressive paintings of the Black Sea and thoughtfully detailed portraits of world leaders. In 1996 she moved to the US. Her hauntingly beautiful, moving seascapes capture the eye. Her singular floral compositions, striking murals, contemporary figurative paintings and portraits are the hallmarks of her paintings. When combined with her sensitivity of form, light shadow and color, Ms Grineva’s canvases quickly establish a captivating feeling of peacefulness, transcending the social concerns for the moment. The pure poetry of nature belongs to her, to a reality as yet uncontaminated by human intrusion.
Oksana has exhibited nationally and internationally. She paints with oils and acrylics, both on canvas and directly on the walls. She has an extraordinary ability to create paintings that go to the heart and spirit of a setting. Her talent for creating artistic splendor no matter the mood intended is remarkable.
